The design-team-chosen winner of our challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to The Buckle Boutique

This card was a lot of fun to make.  I used pattern paper from DCWV Primrose paper stack.  The base is 6x6.  I cut out some coordinating paper, tore and inked their edges before layering them on the card base.  Then I put a strip of blue bling from The Buckle Boutique across the layered papers.  I fussy cut flowers from the collection and layered them in the corner with a little bit of cheese cloth.  I cut two tags from the paper stack, stamped HELLO on one of them and layered them in the center of the card.  The finishing touch was a little bling on the tag with the sentiment on it.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  If you have questions or comments I would love to hear them xoxo Randi

Hi Friend

This card is for my first DT project for craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.com  I'm really excited to be joining this team of wonderful and talented ladies.

The challenge this week is to not use any pattern papers.  So I turned to my trusty color sprays and stamps to create a colorful background.  I sprayed a white card base with blue, teal, and pink mists and dropped some pastel yellow spots on it.  Next I took a chain link stamp with yellow archival ink and randomly stamped over the dried mists.  I sprayed the cheese cloth with the mists and and glued it to the card.  The strip of paper in the middle is misted with the same mists that I used in the background except reversed.  The base is blue with a few pops of pink and the middle strip is pink with a few pops of blue.

The cute little girl is a digi stamp from Zap Pow Designs who is our sponsor this week.  I colored her with markers and used pop dots to make her stand of the page.  The sentiment is from stamps I already had in my stash.  I finished the whole thing off with a few gold sequins.

I love working in mixed media so this challenge was really fun for me.  The messier I get while I'm crafting, the happier I am :D

If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear them.  Thanks so much for stopping by xoxo Randi

Mom Card Using Vinyl

Hi guys!  Here is my Design team project for ScrapbookerPhD.blogspot.com.  Faith has given me my first Design Team opportunity and I'm so excited to be joining her and the rest of the DT.  The challenge this month is to use vinyl, which I did on this Mom card.  Below is a description of how I made the card and how I used vinyl in some of my elements.  I really hope that everyone can join us on this challenge.

The base card is 5x5 and made out of white card stock paper.  The pattern papers I used are from a 6x6 pad by My Mind's Eye.  I inked the edges of all the papers with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Antique Linen and Tattered Rose.  All of the blue embellishments are made with vinyl.  This includes the MOM speech bubble, the trim at the top and bottom of the card, and the heart in the bottom right hand flower cluster .  The vinyl was white but to fit my project I colored it with Tim Holtz alcohol inks.  Then I cut the shapes out with my Cricut die cutting machine.  The flowers are from Recollections and my local dollar store.  I plan on giving this card to my mommy, probably for Mother's Day :)

Thanks for stopping by :) Let me know if you have any questions or comments xoxo Randi

Dream Big

Dream Big!  This is a 5x5 card made from DCWV pattern paper stacks.  On top of the glittery red base card I layered some yellow diagonal paper as well as newspaper printed paper.  I tore the edges of both for some texture.  There are also a few drops of Heidi Swapp mustard ink on top of the layers.  The Dream Big sentiment is a cut out from DCWV, which is raised a bit with pop dots. Cheese cloth is stuffed behind the sentiment.  The finishing touch is a group of flowers in the corner with a bling center and a small paper butterfly.  Thanks for stopping by :)

Paris Dress Form

Hi guys!  I'm here to share another card with you.  This is a 5x5 square card.  I used the Tres Chic paper stack by DCWV.  I picked out a few coordinating papers, one for the base of the card and two for the background of the cutout pictures.  The pink paper I added some Gesso with a stencil.  I put some Heidi Swapp mist droplets on the beige Paris paper.  The dress form and flowers are cutout from the paper collection.  I stamped the word beautiful and cut it into a banner for the sentiment.  Behind the papers I added cheese cloth to the left side and pink lace to the right side.  Some lucky lady will be getting this :)

You Are Just My Type

I really like this card.  It's cute and was really simple to make.  On the white base card I took a Heidi Swapp stencil and misted some purple ink on it.  Then I laid down four different strips of washi tape.  The typewriter and hearts are cut out from the DCWV Sunday Afternoon Stack.

If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear them xoxo Randi
