Life is an Adventure

This is my latest canvas art. I used pattern paper from DCWV Once Upon a Time stack. I glued down some scrap pieces of paper and tissue paper. Over that I sprayed the background of the canvas with sprays from Heidi Swapp, Tattered Angels, and Recollections. I tore the extra paper from around the dragon and pasted him on the canvas. Then over everything I added some modeling paste with stencils and a little bit of background stamps

The title is made with Thickers and SN@P! alpha stickers. Which I just noticed a typo!!! I will fix that and update you tomorrow on how it goes. I glued those letters down very well lol

The dragon was already printed on the paper but I felt like it didn't stand out. So I painted him and his fire so it would all blend with the background canvas colors

The top corner has some Trico flowers, a Tim Holtz trinket chain, and other embellishments from my stash, including a polymer clay heart I made myself :)

The bottom corner also has Trico flowers and trinkets from my stash. I put a light covering of Gesso over the embellishments in both corners. I needed to tone down the flowers since this is for my brother. I don't want it to be too girly lol

I know my pix aren't the best but I will be improving that, I promise. Thanks for reading xoxo

Mixed Media Slideshow

This is my first YouTube video. I plan on putting my face and voice on future videos but I thought this slideshow would give me a feel on how the editing process goes. I hope you enjoy it. If you want to see any of these projects in more detail please leave a comment and I will do a video on them.

My Second Mixed Media Canvas

This is my second Mixed Media art project.  It's also on a 8" by 10" canvas that I bought from AC Moore.  The background is textured with scrap paper, washi tape, burlap pieces, and lace.  The sprays I used were Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mint Green, Primrose, and Peach as well as Recollections Simply Pastel Yellow Shimmer. The LOVE words were from a card making kit from Me & My Big Ideas which I picked up on sale at Michael's during their Valentine's Day Sales.  I sprayed one set of words with Tattered Angels Almost Black Spray and the other set I mixed texture paint with blue acrylic paint.

The flowers are from the dollar store as well as a couple from a Recollections collections.  The corners also contain trinkets from my stash as well as a polymer clay bird that I made from a Martha Stewart mold.

The frame and key are from Micheal's $1.50 bins.  The LOVE alpha stickers are from SN@P!  The hearts are handmade from polymer clay.  All the trinkets are finished with the white texture paint from Martha Stewart

This was a great project to make.  I am still honing my skills but I love how it turned out and it looks so cute hanging on my wall at home

My First Mixed Media Canvas

This is my first mixed media canvas art. It's on an 8" x 10" canvas.  The background was first colored with blue and purple Gelatos but then I went spray crazy.  I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays in Primrose, Mint Green, and Peach as well as Recollections Simply Pastel in Yellow Shimmer.  The texture in the background came from scrap patterned paper, burlap pieces, and lace.  I also used a small checkered stencil with White Texture Paint by Martha Stewart.  I bought the wood word "Imagine" in the discount section of Michael's.  The flowers are from my local dollar store and the piece also contains many trinkets from my stash.  I am very happy with the outcome of this project especially since it was my first try at Mixed Media art :)
